A Special Place in Hell

Madeleine Albright said it best: "There's a special place in hell for women who don't support other women."

And honestly?

She wasn't wrong.

I'm loud about supporting women. Like, really loud. The foghorn, the hype woman, the one shouting, "You've got this!" to anyone who needs it. Because, let's be honest, it's bloody tough out here, especially in corporate spaces. And that's exactly why I have zero patience for women who don't just fail to support others but actively go out of their way to make life harder.

Here's the thing: you don't have to like every woman you work with. I'm not asking for that. But there's a difference between not being besties and actively trying to trip someone up.

You know the moves I'm talking about—the passive-aggressive digs in meetings, leaving people out of the emails they should be on, withholding information just to make someone's life harder. It's petty. It's unnecessary. And let's face it, it's all about insecurity.

It's infuriating. And when I see it? You're on my list. That's it. No goodwill, no energy, no time from me.

Done.

We already have enough to deal with, just trying to carve out spaces for ourselves, fighting for seats at the table, navigating all the subtle (and not-so-subtle) nonsense that comes with it.

If you can't lift another woman up, or at the very least, just leave her alone. What are you even doing?

This isn't a debate.

It's a rant.

Do better.
